Here is a Fort Pitt Special Beer Lighted Sign fro the Fort Pitt Brewing Company located in Pittsburgh, PA. This Fort Pitt Special Beer Lighted Sign is from the early to mid 1930’s era and is in very good condition for it’s age.
The sign itself is made of a fired-on enamel reverse painted glass lens and a lighted metal can body. The back would have originally had a stand on it for display as a bar back sign, however this particular Fott Pitt Beer Sign has a chain for mounting to the wall. The sign was made by the Central Lighting Fixture Company located in Philadelphia, PA and was also a sister company to the Gillco Glass Sign Company located in Philadelphia, PA. This style of Central Lighting Fixture Co. signs were known as “A Glow Sign” but are more commonly referred to as “Saucer Signs”.
