Here is a Golden Dry Old Reading Beer Sign from the Old Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. This Golden Dry Old Reading Beer Sign is from 1944 and is in excellent condition for it’s age. It measures approximately 16″ wide in size and is made of a round piece of reverse-painted glass, a masonite backer with a glitter reflector, and a metal ring around the outside that holds the sign together..
The manufacturer of this sign in unknown as there isn’t any identification tags or decals on the front or back of this sign; if I had to guess I’d say Brilliant Manufacturing Company located in Philadelphia, PA. It was made to be displayed on a wall of a tavern or distributor to advertising the a beers called “Old Reading Golden Dry”. Old Reading Golden Dry was only produced for one year during 1944. Besides this Golden Dry Old Reading Beer Sign you only ever see a few coasters and the cone top beer can that reference the Golden Dry name.
This particular sign is a one-of-a-kind as it’s the only example known to exist. I’m very happy to have it in my personal collection.
