Here is a Mount Carbon Beer Tray I picked up at a local antique and collectible show last weekend. The tray is from Mount Carbon Brewing Company located in Pottsville, PA. Their advertising motto was “A Mellow Brew from the Mountains”. The brewery ran from 1933 till 1976 when D. G. Yuengling & Sons (another Pottsville brewery and the oldest brewery in america) bought the licensing.

I love the minimal graphics on this tray using the color selection, the initials of the brewery, and the PA keystone icon. During production of these trays, the printing company used a cheap paint to cut costs on production; hence over time the paint would peel right off the metal destroying the graphic. It is very hard to find one in any condition with the graphics still in-tacked. Besides a little surface rust around the edges this is a fine piece and I am happy to add it to my collection.
