Here is an Old Reading Beer Cash Register Light from the Old Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA.  It would have been attached to the top of a cash register in bars and taverns to advertise Old Reading Beer. This light is probably from around the 1930’s to 1940’s.  It has a light switch toggle on the back as well as a ballast attached to the cord to regulate the electricity current into the light.  The front part of the sign is a ROG (reverse-over-glass) reverse painted glass with a light underneath to illuminate the sign.  This sign is very attractive and eye catching especially when it’s lite-up in say a dark bar or tavern.  The Old Reading Brewing Company also made variations of this sign even after the brewery rebranded to Reading Premium they still made signs similar.  I own a similar newer version by the Reading Brewing Company advertising Reading Premium Beer.  Click here to view that sign.

It is in excellent condition for it’s age and I am very happy to have it in my collection.
