Here is an Old Reading Beer Porcelain Sign from the Old Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. This Old Reading Beer Porcelain Sign is made of steel with a porcelain enamel coating which makes the sign very durable to the outdoor elements when most of these signs were displayed.
I was told that Old Reading Beer Signs like this one were used on the side of delivery trucks to advertise Old Reading Beer. I believe this sign is from the 1940’s era because of the wood sign graphics and the tag lines that reads “Good Old Reading Beer” and “Traditionally Pennsylvania Dutch” which the brewery used in there marketing during that time. It is in excellent condition for it’s age except for one small chip on the bottom right corner.
