Here is a Reading Premium Beer Glass Sign from the Old Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. This Reading Premium Beer Glass Sign is from 1950’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age. The sign was made by the Beeco Inc. Sign Manufacturing Company located in Chicago, IL.
Signs like these would have been hung on the walls or displayed on the bar back in bars and taverns to advertise Reading Premium Beer. Because they are made of reverse painted glass and tended to catch light they became more noticeable in usually dark bars.
The Reading Brewery logo and graphics on the sign was created right around the brewery’s rebrand from the Old Reading Brewery to the Reading Brewing Company. You can see this by the size of the short “R” in Reading which was later elongated vertically; plus on the bottom of the sign it still reads Old Reading Brewery.
