The year is 1933, prohibition has just ended and breweries are dusting off the cobwebs of their brewery equipment and getting back to producing beer. It’s at this time that the United States government issues a mandate to breweries that all beer served in taverns and hotels has to be marked with the appropriate brewers name and / or style of beer produced; hence the birth of early tap handles known at “ball tap knobs” are introduced.
