The Electric Neon Clock Company was established by Mannie E. Winger and a group of Clevelanders in about 1928 era located in Cleveland, OH. The Electric Neon Clock Co. began as a manufacturer of neon clocks also known as Cleveland Clocks also known as Aztec Clocks. The Aztec Clock name was coined name referring to the Aztec looking shape that they were manufactured as.  The clocks have various angles and ascents that were popular during the Art Deco period.

Electric Neon Clocks produced neon clocks for various industries across the country primarily in industries like automotive, movie and cinema, restaurants, soda companies, breweries, and service stations just to name a few.  Some of the early cinema and movie theater clocks were placed over the doors and used as an “Exit Sign” with the word Exit scribed in neon and would have had backlit advertising across the top.  The Electric Neon Clock Co. had various local competing companies like Neo-Lite Display Company, Glo-Dial, Roto-Dial, and Federal Neon Clocks.

In the 1960s, the company was eventually sold to Tel-A-Sign Company located in Chicago, IL.
