Baltimore, MD
The Baltimore Sign Company was established in the early 1900’s era located in Baltimore, MD. They produced smaltz painted tin signs for various up and down the east coast. Among their clients were primarily cigar makers and breweries like Lauer Brewing Company, Conrad Weiser Cigars and Ka-Mar Cigars just to name a few.
They did have a competitor by the name of Chas. W. Shonk Company located in Chicago, IL who produced similar style signs around the same time. Shonk’s production of smaltz signs were very short yet I believe there was some overlap between the two companies.
