Scioto sign company factory Kenton ohioThe Scioto Sign Company was established in 1897 located in Kenton, OH.  The company started out manufacturing advertising specialties such as paper and cardboard signs, muslin banners, aprons and other novelties.In the 1920’s era they began producing advertising tin signs for various companies across the country.  Among them were companies like Chevrolet, Harley Davison, Kendall, Bosch, Dixie Gas, Dekalb, Coca Cola, Orange Crush, Triple Kola, Kist, Springs, Caroga, and Briggs and Stratton.

After prohibition ended in 1933, various breweries hired Scioto Signs to produce embossed tin sign, flange signs, and TOC Signs to advertise both their brewery as well as their products.  Some of their brewer clients were breweries like Esslinger, Lebanon Valley, Consumer, Lithia, Red Top, Fox, Christmann, Marathon, Hanley, Kurth, Northern, Red Top, Pabst, and Walter Bros. just to name a few.
