The Artcrafts Engraving Company was established in 1913 located in St. Joseph, MO. Artcrafts Engraving Company produced engravings, photopolymer flexographic plates, and letterpress plates to various sign makers across the country. One could argue that Artcrafts Engraving was the sign maker to the sign makers as far as printing products and processes are concerned.
They employed various artists to create the artwork for their advertising; among the artists was Fred Harman who eventually became a famous cartoonist. They produced advertising signs, packaging, and publication ads for breweries like Hamms, Country Club, Falstaff, Goetz, Pabst, and Schmidt just to name a few.
