E&B Special Beer Sign
Here is a E&B Special Beer Sign from the Ekhardt & Becker Brewing Company located in. Detroit, MI. This sign is from the 1940s era and is in very good condition considering how old it is.
It approximately 14″ by 10″ and is made of lithograph-printed tin wrapped over a cardboard backer. The sign was made by the Bastian Brothers Company located in Rochester, NY. The graphics on the sign depict on of the brewery’s flagship beers “E&B Special Beer” with the text that reads “Here’s Heath!” and “It’s Kraeusened”. The German term “Kraeusened” is meaning for the addition of actively fermenting wort as an inoculant to induce fermentation in a different batch of wort or beer.

Neuweiler Bottled Beer Sign
Here is a Neuweiler Bottled Beer Sign from the Neuweiler Brewing Company located in Allentown, PA. This Neuweiler Bottled Beer Sign is from the 1940s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
The large sign is approximately 36″ by 18″ and is made of thick cardboard. Signs like this one would have been displayed inside of a tavern, hotel, or beer distributor to advertising Neuweiler products to patrons; it could have also been displayed inside of a bus.
The graphics on this screen-printed cardboard sign depict Beer Bottles being opened in a line with the typography that reads “Nix-Besser”, “Bottle After Bottle”, and “Beer Great Today-and Tomorrow Too!”. The phrase “Nix Besser” in German which translates to “None Better” and was commonly used by the Neuweiler brewery’s advertising efforts and as well as a tagline.

Here is a Duquesne Pilsener Beer Sign from the Duquesne Brewing Company located in Pittsburgh, PA. This Duquesne Pilsener Beer Sign is from the 1930s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
The sign is approximately 16″ by 8″ and is made of reverse-painted glass mounted in a metal frame with a cardboard backer. The sign was made by the S. S. Zentner & Company located in Beaver, PA. Signs like these would have been hung on the wall or displayed with the cardboard easel back on a bar countertop.
