Here is a Ballantine Ale & Beer Sign from the Ballantine Brewing Company located in Newark, NJ. This Ballantine Ale & Beer Sign is from the 1950s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
This Ballantine Sign was made by the Ohio Advertising Display Company located in Cincinnati, OH; this style of sign is known as a “Fireball Streamliner” sign model. It is approximately 24″ wide and is made of a reverse-painted glass face mounted in a backlit metal body.
When lit the sign gives off a neon green glow which is very eye catching. Fireball Streamliner signs like this one would have been displayed in the windows or on the bar back of a tavern to advertise Ballantine Brewery products.
