Here is a National Bohemian Beer Sign from the National Brewing Company located in Baltimore, MD.  This National Bohemian Beer Sign is from the 1950s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.

The sign is approximately 15″ wide by 3″ deep and was made by the Central Lighting Fixture Company (sister-company to Gillco Glass Sign Company and Gill Glass Company) located in Philadelphia, PA. This style of Central Lighting Fixture Company signs were known as “A Glow Sign” but are more commonly referred to as “Saucer Signs”.  The sign itself is made of a fired-on enamel reverse painted glass lens and a lighted metal can body, all of which was what Gillco Glass Sign Company was known for producing.  The back of the sign has a stand on it for display as a bar back signal well as a chain for mounting to the wall.

There is another variation of this sign with very similar graphics but from the brewery’s Detroit, MI branch.  The letter is in a different block type face and the bottom text reads “The National Brewing Co., Detroit, MI”. I am actively looking for that variation, please contact me if you have one for sale.
