Here is a Valley Forge Beer Cooler Knob from the Adam Scheidt Brewing Company located in Norristown, PA. This Valley Forge Beer Cooler Knob is from the 1940’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age.
This style of beer ball tap knob is known as a cooler knob because the square shank insert on the bottom of there knob is meant to slide on the square cooler handle post. The coolers would be located behind the bar back with a series of cabinet doors that would lead into the walk-in collect behind the back back. Cooler knobs like this one were meant to advertise and specify what bottled beer was in which cooler.
