Here is a Oconto Beer Glass Knob from the Oconto Brewing Company located in Oconto, WI. This Oconto Beer Glass Knob was made in 1936 and is in very good condition considering how old it is. The top of this knob has some faint writing that has worn off but appears to have said “Oconto Beer”.
The knob was manufactured by the J. E. Newman Company located in Pittsburgh, PA. It is made of molded glass with enamel painted lettering on the side that reads “Oconto”. Glass knobs like this one are some of the earliest tap markers produced after prohibition ended in 1933. J. E. Newman Company glass knobs were not in production very long due to how fragile the knob was to breakage as well as the lettering would wear off very easily.
