Here is a Old Reading Beer Deck of Cards made by a local beer distributors by the name of the Beverage Sales Co. These playing cards would have been used as a promotional handout from the beer distributor to promote Schlitz and Old Reading Beer. In most cases when it comes to handout like these the boxes are often customized with the name of the breweries and the cards are just generic; in this case even the cards have text on the back that read “Drink Schlitz and Old Reading Beer”.
This Old Reading Beer Deck of Cards is probably from the 1940’s to the 1950’s. It’s a very cool piece that covers 2 large breweries as well as has a gaming collectible value too. I’ve never seen or heard of any other deck of cards like this one before. It’s a very cool piece and I’m happy to have it in my collection.
