Here is a Playmate Premium Beer Can from the Sunshine Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. This Playmate Premium Beer Can is from between 1967 to 1968 era and is in excellent condition for it’s age. The only flaw on this Playmate can is that the pull tab is missing, I would love to find one of these cans that has the pull tab still enacted.
The Sunshine Brewing Company created Playmate Beer and Malt Liquor from 1967 to 1968 to keep up with demand and compete with other local malt liquor producers. They used the name Playmate and a graphic of a sexy girls illustrated face on beer cans, labels and beer signs.
There are actually 2 variations of this Playmate Beer Can. Both have similar graphics on them except the style of beer is different, one reads Playmate Premium Beer while the other reads Playmate Malt Liquor; click here to view the other Playmate Can from my personal collection.
