Schlitz Beer Composite Sign

Here is a Schmidt’s Ale Glass Sign from the C. Schmidt & Sons Brewery located in Philadelphia, PA.  This Schmidt’s Ale Glass Sign is from the 1940s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is. This sign was made by the Ohio Advertising Display Company located in Cincinnati, OH.  It is made of reverse-painted glass with 2 tacker strips on the back for display.  Signs like this one would have been tacked to the mirror of a bar back or on the wall of a tavern to advertise Schmidt’s Ale to patrons.

Here is a Pennsylvania Dutch Beer Sign from the Lebanon Valley Brewing Company located in Lebanon, PA.  This PA Dutch Beer Sign is from the 1940’s era and is in excellent condition for its age. This Pennsylvania Dutch Beer Sign was made by the Scioto Sign Company located in Kenton, OH. It is approximately 15″ wide and is made of embossed tin with a string hanger.  Signs like these were meant to hang on the wall throughout taverns and distributors to advertise Lebanon Valley Old German Beer.  Pennsylvania Dutch Old German Beer was one of the flagship beers produced by the Lebanon Valley brewery from 1933 up until when the brewery closed in 1959.
