Lima, OH
The Harnisfager Manufacturing Company was established by John Harnisfager in the 1940’s located in Lima, OH. The company originally began as a sheet metal and fabrication shop and eventually transitioned into a sign manufacturing company. We believe they had partnership ties to another local sign company located in Lima, OH called Neon Products Inc.
Between the partnership of the two companies, we believe Harnisfager produced sign bodies, some having art-deco stylized features and would always mark their signs Harnisfager Mfg Co. They produced signs for companies like Maytag and Pittsburgh Paint just to name a few. It’s unknown when they eventually closed but there are recorders that indicate that they were still in business up until 1948.
