Here is a Oriental Brewery Porter Sign from the Oriental Brewing Company and the Weisbrod and Hess Brewery located in Philadelphia, PA. This Oriental Brewery Porter Sign is from the late 1800’s era and is in very good condition for its age.
This Oriental Porter Beer Sign is made of curved reverse-painted glass mounted in a stamped tin frame. The graphics on this sign are amazing and very detailed. The artwork on the sign shows the Oriental Brewery’s logo which is a peacock surrounded by wheat and malt, the center of the sign reads “Porter” which is lettered in gold leaf, and the bottom reads “Oriental Brewery”, “Weisbrod & Hess”, and “Philadelphia”.
There is actually another variation of this sign in the same size but with different graphics on it. That one reads “Shakespeare Oriental Brewery” with a coat of arms displayed at the top. I would love to find that version to add to my collection.
