Here is a Stegmaier Brewery Factory Scene from the Stegmaier Brewing Company located in Wilkes Barre, PA.  This Stegmaier Brewery Factory Scene is pre-prohibition era and is in excellent condition for it’s age.

This Brewery Factory Scene sign is was made by the Meyercord Company located in Chicago, IL.  The sign is approximately 24″ x 36″ and is made of a wood veneer mounted on a wood backer with the artwork painted over the veneer.  The artwork shows the entire Stegmaier Brewery building by building as well as carts, workers, and trains during operation in extreme detail.  I’m not entirely sure that the frame is original to the piece as these Meyercord sign usually we displayed without frames.

Here’s the story:
I purchased this Stegmaier Factory Scene from a family member of logging company that was in operation in the mountains of Wilkes Barre, PA during the late 1800’s.  I was told by the man that his great grandfather who ran a logging company at the time would make regular trips to the city of Wilkes Barre on a monthly basis to resupply.  During these trips he would purchase Stegmaier Beer directly from the brewery.  Over time he developed a friendly relationship with the Stegmaier Family and was give this Meyercord Company Stegmaier Brewery Factory Scene sign to hang in his office to remind him of Wilkes Barre and the Stegmaier Brewery.
