Here is a Southern Comfort Lighted Sign from the 1930’s era and is in very good condition for it’s age.  This Southern Comfort Lighted Sign was made by the Lackner Sign Company located in Cincinnati, OH.

It is approximately 21″ wide and is made of an Art Deco-stylized metal body with a neon glass tube outline around the graphics; the graphics are a three-dimensional cast and painted model of a southern paddle steamer with the phase “Southern Comfort” across the top. Placed on the face is a piece of reverse-painted glass with lettering that reads “There’s Only One” and “America’s Most Versatile Drink”.

Signs like these would have been displayed as a bar back countertop display in taverns as well as general stores to attract patrons to purchase Southern Comfort cocktail beverages and bottles.
